Garnish storm Eeragh
Garnish at the end of the Beara Peninsula in South West Cork during the storms of 2014. The yellowy orange house is the old Garnish Post Office which closed in 2007 Eeragh, the most northerly of the Aran Island chain in Co. Galway. Boats to the Aran Islands go out daily from Rossaveal and Doolin. I took this picture from Inishmore which is the largest of the islands. See this view on the West Coast Tour

At the mouth to Berehaven Harbour, looking across to Ardnakinna lighthouse on Bere Island. This entrance sees many of the smaller vessels coming and going from Berehaven, using the port of Castletownbere The Piper Rocks, just to the right of the view to the left of this, at the entrance to Berehaven. The view beyond is of Bantry Bay into which oil tankers come delivering oil to the refinery at Whiddy Island

Inishtearaght Skellig Michael
Inishtearaght is one of the Blasket Islands off the Kerry coast near Dingle. It means Western Isle, and is the most westerly lighthouse in Europe Skellig Michael off the Kerry Coast, renowned for its monastic settlement where monks used to live before being routed by raiders. Little Skellig in the background is one of the largest gannet colonies in existence. There is also a lighthouse there and the remains of an earlier one. buy a print

Duvillaun Eagle Island
Duvillaun, a privately owned island off Belmullet in Co. Mayo. In the background is Achill Island. see more more Mayo views Eagle Island off the Mayo coast, to the north west of Belmullet, one of the most storm damaged lighthouses in Ireland. Look closely in the above picture and you will see a high defence wall, beyond is tons of rubble courtesy of violent storms which have seen waves rise up those 300 foot high cliffs.
