Skellig Michael is well known the world over for the beehive monastic settlement, however the lighthouse is tucked away out of sight.
You can see it by going up to the left from the ascending steps but I would suggest you refrain from doing this as you might disturb the nesting birds that are everywhere on the island.
I took my close up #9 shot this way (see lower down the page), but
that was nearly 30 years ago when walking around the island was not
so heavily restricted. The original lighthouse seen 1st row below main picture on the right was designed by George Halpin Senior
Adventurous people go up from Christ's Saddle, but it involves a
scary ledge walk which i don't have the courage and I would advise
you against trying it as people have come to grief trying it
