Galley Head lighthouse

On the south coast near Clonakilty, the lighthouse cottages have been restored by the Irish Landmark Trust for people who wish to stay there. The lighthouse has a distinct charm about it, perched on those cliffs overlooking the ocean. We stay there each June on the Southern Extreme Irish Lighthouse Tour

Galley is great place to spend a couple of nights, with your bedroom window looking straight at the revolving lantern. I have stayed there a few times. I also took the brochure shots for the Irish Landmark Trust and you will a print of mine on the wall when you visit the Keeper's Cottage. There is scope of plenty of exercise here, but be careful of the dangerous cliffs to the west side where I took this picture

Taken with my Mamiya 7 medium format camera the slide enlarges with ease to 40x30 inches. Lots of lovely surf spread out like bridal skirt fit for a beautiful wedding
