Put off doing this one for years, as I felt it was difficult to get to. I had the Attendant's phone number, so gave him a ring on the off chance as I was pulling out of Blacksod one day. John Jeffers couldn't have been nicer, he picked me up in his boat from a pier and took me out to the island in Clew Bay. He lived alone on there with his dog. In 2006 I learned the sad news that John had passed away. Thanks for the memory my friend |

During my time on the island I learned it was one of the last places in Ireland to get connected to the power grid and also just a short way from it there is Dorinish the island John Lennon of The Beatles purchased |
